Illegal Hydrocarbon Tap Found in Mexico City

The Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection Secretariat of Mexico City reported on Wednesday via social media about an illegal hydrocarbon tap in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of the capital. According to the report, yesterday officials responded to Gobernador M. González Calderón Street in the Observatorio neighborhood, where they received a report of an illegal tap. In coordination with logistics and intelligence personnel from Pemex, the National Guard, and the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC CDMX), they located two tunnels at a depth of 6 meters, where an illegal hydrocarbon tap connected to a pipeline is presumed. As a preventive measure, the area was cordoned off, but it was announced from the first moment that there is no risk to the population. Likewise, it was indicated that the Attorney General's Office (FGR) has initiated the investigation.
